Don’t Let Your Work Eat You Alive

Personal Sustainability for Leaders and High Achievers

The time for band-aids is over. Attrition rates are making headlines and it’s not pretty. You may have heard rumblings in your workplace about:

  • Burned out top performers
  • Complaints about the impact of bad management
  • Overwhelm caused by too much work or anxiety around not enough
  • Co-worker and teammate conflict on the rise
  • Lack of “work life balance”

Maybe you’ve tried:

  • Meditation or mindfulness apps
  • Quiet quitting
  • Searching for a new job yourself
  • Building more capacity for silent suffering
  • Working on your “work life balance”

But these temporary fixes are most likely barely holding on in the current work environment.

Everyone wants their team to be engaged and happy and it may feel like the magic formula to keep people requires more money and lower standards. But what if it was something more human than a pay raise?

What would change if you were able to:

  • Navigate conflict without breaking out in a cold sweat?
  • Understand the ongoing dynamics of trust in your organization and how to create more of it?
  • Deal with your stress in the moment instead of letting it build into a 5 alarm fire?
  • Influence the folks you came into contact with in a positive and impactful way?

That’s where we come in. Between the two of us, we have over 40 years of experience working with high-achievers in challenging environments. And we know what it truly takes to thrive.

(Spoiler alert: It doesn’t include putting your head down to work harder or putting in more effort or hours. In fact, it’s just the opposite.)

Here are the details:

This 4-week experience is designed to work with your schedule. Each week you’ll receive access to a 10-12 minute video that you can watch at your convenience. The homework is minimal – it will be a 15 minute exercise or incorporate into your day-to-day. During weeks 3 and 4 you’ll have access to us live for your questions, challenges, and community.

  • On-demand microlearning video modules drop each Tuesday on May 2, 9, 16, and 23 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET
  • Two deep learning sessions drop on Wednesday May 3 and 10 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET
  • Two 45 minute live sessions (not recorded) on Wednessday May 17 and 24 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET
  • Bonus resources to support you along your ongoing journey
  • Option to add-on a personal coaching and integration session with Iggy and Audrey

Why does this work matter?

When gone unaddressed, the stats are pretty grim.

  • 79% of employees will quit due to a lack of appreciation.
  • Disengaged employees had a 37% higher absentee rate, suffered 49% more accidents, and made 60% more errors at work.
  • More than 50% of US employees report experiencing daily stress in the workplace
  • Chronic stress can cause low engagement, lack of focus and productivity, poor performance, and an increase in absences and tardiness
  • A conservative estimate cost of replacing an individual employee can range from .5-2 times the employee’s annual salary. In a 100-person organization with an average salary of $50,000 this can equate to turnover and replacement costs of approximately $660,000 to $2.6 million per year.

But the results of using the skills we’re teaching are encouraging! Acording to Harvard Business Review’s findings:

  • “In a longitudinal study from the University of California-Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, the authors used validated research scales to assess the personality traits of people entering the labor market. After 14 years, and controlling for demographic and corporate factors, those who were generous and agreeable were more likely to be promoted to a position of power.”
  • “A University of South Carolina study that surveyed representative samples of the general population in the U.S. and European countries across a wide range of income levels found that people with “prosocial motivation” — i.e., those who are kinder and more generous — tend to have higher incomes compared to selfish people.”
  • “Numerous studies show that when leaders are primarily focused on the well-being of their employees, this is a strong predictor of employee job satisfaction, perceived organizational support, loyalty and trust in the organization, and retention. It also has been linked with improved employee job performance (by boosting employee motivation), and better team performance.”

Sustainable leadership skills are good for you, the people around you, and the bottom line.

FAQ’s

I’m already busy and barely surviving. Is this going to be another thing on my to-do list?

We’ve taken that into consideration as we created this course. You can do your learning on a walk and attend the live sessions from your couch or in-between tasks. Everything is recorded and there will be bonus resources for your ongoing use. This is not about adding more to your life, it’s about tools that will help you take away the things that aren’t working in your day-to-day.

I can’t attend the live sessions.

No worries. The live sessions are only part of this course and you’re welcome to email us with questions as you go through it.

Life is expensive right now. What makes this experience worth my time and money investment?

Where are you on a scale from 1-10 (1 being “I’m totally thriving and feeling cool as a cucumber in my work and life” and 10 being “everything is on fire and I can’t see my way out”)? If you’re at a 1 then you don’t need this course. If you find yourself at a 4 and up or constantly find yourself jumping between feeling calm and feeling on fire and not having a way to even out your experience, this is a great course for you.

The combined experience we have in leadership settings goes beyond tactics and mental exercises. Our goal is to help you shift the way you experience, behave, and perceive what happens in your day-to-day and change the impact of what currently feels stressful.

Using the tools we teach on a regular basis are at a minimum game-changing when it comes to challenging situations and ongoing chronic stress.

We’re committed to making this program accessible to anyone interested in learning these skills. We’re happy to discuss payment plans or other arrangements if needed. Send Iggy an email at iggy@wslleadership.com or Audrey at audrey@fortitudeandflow.com.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds will not be issued for this experience – please ask any questions you may have beforehand by emailing Iggy at iggy@wslleadership.com or Audrey at audrey@fortitudeandflow.com.
